HP Helps China’s TravelSky Drive Airline Industry Evolution

BEIJING — HP today announced that TravelSky Technology Ltd , China’s leading provider of aviation technology, has selected HP Enterprise Services  to support its development of a next-generation Passenger Services System (PSS) called “New Compass.”
Headquartered in Beijing, TravelSky serves customers that include 30 domestic airlines, 200 overseas airlines, 147 domestic airports and 7,000 ticket agents. It provides services to 300 cities in China and 80 other cities worldwide. With such a broad customer base and increasingly sophisticated expectations, TravelSky needed a new PSS that would give it the flexibility to deliver innovative and differentiated services.
Leveraging its deep experience in the aviation market, HP will provide TravelSky with PSS design and development services for the delivery of a customizable New Compass for TravelSky’s growing customer base. New Compass will enable TravelSky to provide its airline customers with flexible, scalable solutions, while meeting the changing needs of airlines.
Airlines today face increasing pressure to enhance the passenger experience, generate revenue and reduce operational costs. For airlines to address these challenges, they need a solution that offers a full range of air travel-related services beyond just selling flights, making reservations or handling passengers at airports.
HP is a leading information technology company and an airline industry solution provider, which puts it in a unique position to help airlines deliver innovative new services that enhance the customer experience of the “always connected” traveler. HP services also can further allow the airlines flexibility in their operations going forward.
“Success in the airline industry is built on the ability to innovate—providing differentiated, tailored services that meet the changing needs of the sophisticated, connected traveler,” said Bruce Dahlgren, senior vice president and general manager, Enterprise Services—Asia Pacific and Japan, HP.  “Clients such as TravelSky rely on HP to understand the nuances of their business and deliver solutions that meet the specific needs of the aviation industry.
