Featuring slimmer designs, the company’s latest PC products weigh less than their predecessors and feature refined, minimalistic form factors. The LG Ultra PCalso provides instantaneous booting with its solid-state drive (128GB or 256GB) for quick access and greater user convenience.
The 13Z940 Ultra PC has a Full HD 13.3-inch IPS display that incorporates the company’s Super Narrow Bezel design for an industry-leading 4.4mm thin bezels. NSN's Jesper Ovesen to step down as Executive Chairman

NSN's Jesper Ovesen to step down as Executive Chairman 
Espoo, Finland - Nokia today announced that Jesper Ovesen is to step down as Executive Chairman of Nokia Solutions and Networks, the group's telecoms infrastructure business.
Mr Ovesen joined NSN in September 2011, when it was a joint venture between Nokia and Siemens. He has supported NSN CEO Rajeev Suri and his management team in building a successful and industry-leading telecoms infrastructure company focused on mobile broadband and related services. Since August 2013, NSN has been fully-owned by Nokia.
Nokia Chairman and interim CEO Risto Siilasmaa said: "We thank Jesper for lending the full breadth of his restructuring and change management expertise and for playing a critical part in building a stronger NSN. NSN has developed into a profitable and leading mobile broadband specialist that is pushing the boundaries of connecting people through LTE and future technologies. We wish Jesper well for the future."
Mr. Ovesen is due to step down from his Executive Chairman role upon the closing of the transaction whereby Nokia is selling substantially all of its Devices & Services business to Microsoft, which is expected to take place during the first quarter of 2014. Mr. Ovesen will continue to serve in an advisory role for a period after the closing of the Microsoft transaction. As before, NSN CEO Mr. Suri reports to the NSN Board.

Knock was first introduced in LG G2 as a convenient way to turn the smartphone on and off by tapping twice on the display since the power button was located on the back of the phone. Then Knock was featured in a tablet for the first time with the LG G Pad 8.3 followed by the G Flex curved smartphone which also shared the rear button design of the G2. The reaction of audiences to this new feature was so positive that a version for LG’s best-selling L SeriesII was developed to offer the feature to as many customers as possible.

With HomeChat[1], there is no learning curve because it was designed to be used with one of today’s most popular and free mobile messenger, LINE. With 310 million users worldwide, LINE is available on all major smartphone platforms: Android, iPhone, Windows Phone, BlackBerry and Nokia Asha as well as desktops and laptops running Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X. With HomeChat, there is no need to learn new commands or add another remote control to the coffee table. Everything homeowners need to communicate with their LG smart appliance is on their smartphone or desktop.

Simply texting “I’m going on vacation” in HomeChat will result in the automatic response, “Should I convert to vacation mode?” which when replied in the affirmative, will turn on the refrigerator’s power-saving mode, set the robotic vacuum cleaner to sweep the floor at 09:00 every day and set the washing machine to run a wash cycle on the day before your return. Available initially in English and Korean with more languages in the pipeline.
A Complete Food Management System
Thanks to the messaging capabilities of HomeChat, new LG smart appliance owners will be able to receive real time status updates from their refrigerators no matter where they are. Family members can upload photos to the fridge from their smartphones using LINE and displayed on the refrigerator’s display panel. 
What’s more, Smart Manager transforms the refrigerator into a complete food management system. Customers can use the LCD panel or their smartphones through the LG Smart Refrigerator app to check what’s inside without opening the door. With the Smart Manager’s Freshness Tracker, users can input various foods and check their expiration dates. Smart Manager also has the capability to recommend dishes to prepare based on the ingredients available in the refrigerator. 
So Much More Than a Vacuum
The HOM-BOT SQUARE can be programmed to clean at set times in accordance with the needs and personal preferences of the user. Homeowners can check the cleaning history by asking HOM-BOT SQUARE “When did you last clean?” using HomeChat. The vacuum cleaner will then respond via HomeChat: “10:50 started cleaning with zigzag mode; 11:30 completed cleaning with zigzag mode.” Moreover, HOM-BOT SQUARE’s movement can be manually controlled using HomeChat.
A Washing Machine That Thinks For You
Using HomeChat, users can download up-to-date wash cycles to suit their personal needs and also receive recommendations via HomeChat if a wash cycle has been updated and needs to be downloaded again. HomeChat can also be used to remotely start a load of laundry, monitor the status of the washer, and receive push alerts via smartphone or LG Smart TV when a wash cycle is completed.
Recipe Recommendations with LG’s Smart Oven 
With HomeChat™ and Recipe Search, users can converse with their smart oven to recommend recipes for specific dishes and find out which ingredients are needed for it. Conveniently, the oven will then auto-select the appropriate settings, which helps users to avoid the hassle of having to manually set the cooking mode. Also, LG’s smart oven app provides alerts when recipe updates become available, encouraging family members to whip up new and interesting meals. 
Greater Convenience with NFC
With NFC Tagging and Smart Diagnosis™, customers can resolve minor issues without expensive and inconvenient home technician visits. NFC tagging also allows owners to download new wash cycles for LG washing machines.

The new model is equipped with a robust 4.1 channel, 320 watt sound system and an external wireless subwoofer. The NB5540 supports HDMI with Audio Return Channel (ARC), enabling it to connect to a TV with a single cable. SEOUL, Dec. 19, 2013 — LG Electronics (LG) today announced it will be unveiling the world’s first 21:9 aspect ratio CURVED ULTRA HD TV (Model 105UC9) at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. LG’s newest premium TV is also the company’s very first CURVED ULTRA HD model. The award winning groundbreaking 105-inch (measured diagonally) 105UC9 is officially the largest curved TV ever made.
This awe-inspiring TV offers magnificent picture quality and a wide viewing angle with the ability to render the minutest detail in breathtaking clarity to create an unprecedented level of viewer immersion. The 105UC9’s cinematically proportioned 21:9 CinemaScope screen is ideal for enjoying movies as they were meant to be enjoyed. Another advantage of the extra-wide screen is that it enables users to access viewing information on the side of the screen without blocking any of the ongoing action.
Boasting an 11 million pixel (5120 x 2160) screen resolution, the 105UC9 represents the successful collaboration between LG Electronics and LG Display. In order to realize the TV’s curvature, new technology was introduced to resolve a number of issues, such as maintaining structural integrity and delivering uniform color and brightness across such a large screen. Until now, OLED panels were preferred for curved displays due to their ability to generate their own light. LG Display overcame the challenge of uneven backlighting by refining its Thin Film Transistor (TFT) pixel circuit technology to prevent color leakage and to ensure a superior viewing experience from virtually any angle.
