16 September 2013, London, UK - Samsung
Electronics and renowned London-based shoe designer Nicholas Kirkwood
today announced they will launch a range of exclusive accessories for
Samsung’s latest mobile device, GALAXY Note 3, at London Fashion Week
(LFW).
The accessories will feature Nicholas Kirkwood’s signature Chevron
Pattern and be available in two colours: White and Black, and Black and
White. These exclusive accessories will be available to buy around the world from various online and high street retail channels.
They will be the first in a series of accessories to be launched by
Samsung and Nicholas Kirkwood, featuring the same chevron design, with
other GALAXY products to follow.
As
well as a range of premium accessories, Nicholas Kirkwood, the Creative
Director of London Fashion Week this year, has also designed the
Samsung Galaxy VIP Lounge at Somerset House.
Using a three colour palette, the design of the space is a fusion of
bold architecturally inspired floors and inset display walls which
feature the same chevron pattern that Nicholas has incorporated into the
accessories and his creative design for London Fashion Week, which
currently adorns marketing and branding materials throughout the show.
The
Samsung Galaxy VIP lounge incorporates a geometric graphic carpet,
mirrored bars and diamond back lit optical displays, housing a number of
brand new products from Samsung, including the GALAXY Gear and GALAXY
Note 3, which visitors have a chance to play with before they even hit
the shops. The space is being used for a series of events and as a blogger and media lounge throughout London Fashion Week.
As well as being able to use work stations, bloggers and press have
access to wireless and the space to do live pieces to camera.
Samsung,
which has teamed up with the British Fashion Council (BFC) for the
second year running, is an Official Sponsor at London Fashion Week (LFW)
from Friday 13th – Tuesday 17th September 2013. Samsung’s premium mobile devices – including the GALAXY Note 8.0
and GALAXY S4 Zoom – have been integrated throughout the showcase, used
by key London Fashion Week staff on-site and at the concierge desks, as
well as being made available for use in the press lounges and
information points.
The
GALAXY Gear is a companion device that is set to become the ultimate
fashion icon, bridging the gap between the mobile and fashion worlds as
the world’s first truly wearable technology.
The GALAXY Gear is compatible with the GALAXY Note 3 smartphone,
Samsung’s latest update to the GALAXY Note product line, which is
thinner and lighter and boasts a larger screen, improved battery life
and even better S Pen.
Nicholas
Kirkwood said: “I am excited to partner with Samsung for the second
time to create an exclusive accessory for the Samsung GALAXY Note 3.
When designing the case, I looked to create something that reflected
both the quality and creativity of Samsung whilst also mirroring the
artwork seen in my creative for London Fashion Week."
Younghee
Lee, Executive Vice President of Global Marketing, IT & Mobile
Division at Samsung, said: “Technology is becoming more deeply linked
with the creative processes of fashion designers and artists – both
enabling and empowering them in their creative process.
Partnering with Nicholas Kirkwood, the creative genius and renowned
shoe designer, the Samsung GALAXY Note 3 can offer an additional
inspiration to our fashion-conscious customers.
I think this partnership brings an exciting dimension to our
involvement in this year’s London Fashion Week and we’re looking forward
to hearing what our customers, partners and visitors to Somerset House
think.”
These
latest collaborations continue to showcase the increasing fusion of
fashion and technology and follows Samsung’s previous involvement in
London Fashion Weekend last year, Fashion Fringe in 2011, Vogue
Fashion’s Night Out and men’s tailor Spencer Hart.
